The WORLD MUSIC PICTURE ARCHIVE is devoted to the visual documentation of traditional music from around the world. It contains several thousand pictures from more than 70 countries showing indiginous musicians with traditional instruments in an enormous variety of different circumstances and settings. These photographs and postcards were produced in the first half of the 20th century, and are from the extraordinary collection of music historian Dr Christoph Wagner. We have supplied pictures for books, newspapers, magazines, exhibitions and museums in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. These include The Rough Guide to World Music, Trikont Records, Folk Roots, Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, Stuttgarter Zeitung, Die Tageszeitung/TAZ, Die Wochenzeitung/WoZ, Kommune, German Harmonica Museum (Trossingen) and Transit Verlag (Berlin). If you looking for a particular picture, please get in touch. You might find it here.
